Here’s a quick summary: The Citadel Crusade Case for transporting your miniature army is a fantastic way for storing and traveling with your painted miniature collection. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

Now, a question does come up: Would the Crusade case fit my Warmachine/Hordes models or other wargaming miniatures?

For more options for taking your painted miniature armies with you, check out this article for more army transport options. There’s nothing wrong with soft cases, I own a few myself, but having a hard exterior case is never a bad thing in my opinion. Of course, if you used models such as chainrasps or Dryads, you could probably fit around 25-30 of them comfortably into each tray. Although the foam is flexible, it doesn’t feel like it's going to break as you move the miniatures from the case to the battlefield and back again. The gaps are cut into flexible zig-zag shapes so that they can bend around any weapons or stray limbs whilst holding them in place, and avoiding any breakages.

GW have a decent looking case but I'm not sure how tight/protective the foam looks because of its shape. I was able to fit around 15 miniatures into each of the trays, which averages out at around 60 models in total. The main attraction of 40k is the miniatures, but there are also many video games, board games, books, ect. Though the weight of these heavier models (generally made of pewter) may shift the foam and surrounding content a bit more. The Crusade case (the big one listed above) has the zig zag foam in 4 giant stacks that will fit a pretty large collection of miniatures. You’ll free up more time to concentrate on games, painting or just showing off your miniatures collection. Packing and unpacking the case is absurdly quick and easy; any model, however pointy, placed anywhere within the channels will be protected as well as if you’d spent countless hours hacking away at a custom fit.

We know that you want the best protection for your miniatures – the foam inside the case is slightly larger than the case itself, and will compress around the figures when closed, ensuring a minimum of movement for any miniature. Then you factor in the lower trays and you can add in some Dreadnoughts, Rhinos, or even some larger infantry. It holds the models tightly, but doesn’t press on the weapons or strain any of the spindly ethereal plastic that sticks out of particular models. This compressor technology for lack of a better description allows you to jam much more into the case than other options out there. We also do not accept products that are intimate or sanitary goods, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases.

We know that you want the best protection for your miniatures - the foam inside the case is slightly larger than the case itself, and will compress around the figures when closed, ensuring a minimum of movement for any miniature. Get the case, have low-durability foam that requires periodic replacement, and make continuos money selling replacement “channel” foam. Although it doesn’t look like the largest storage solution out there, this case definitely has a lot to offer under the hood.

In fact, I think the shape/flexibility of the foam would be really useful for safely squeezing the most cumbersome of my Privateer Press models, including the warcaster, Harbinger of Menoth, and the warjack, Guardian (with it’s two fragile flags).

What makes the Citadel Figure case different than other transport systems is the unique channel foam and the way the plastic case wraps around everything when closed. In short, the cases are unique in that they use a channel system of soft foam that compresses (nicely) when the lid is closed.
