I am fairly sure mine is struggling to read my ECM too. It will read all modules except that one on the 2004, whereas it seemed to read everything fine on the '06. I've had mixed experience with my iCarsoft LR V2 (for my Jaguar). It does cover a lot of Jag specific codes and allows the reading of lots of 'live' data which is useful. It can provide a readout of the percentage level of soot in the DPF and the mileage since last regeneration. I've never had a DPF warning or any associated issue, but apparently it will allow you to force a DPF regeneration if required. Certain functions may be limited from the vehicle manufacturer due to the requirement of a special factory access code. Atlantic British has almost everything imaginable one might need for their Land Rover. Not to mention they cover a wide range of generations of LR's. As above. Be sure to buy one from a "certified" dealer only. Now how do you tell it's a certified dealer> Who knows? Attempting to connect to the engine controller (diesel 2.7) causes multiple systems on the car to put warnings on the dash as the LR V3.0 appears to interfere with the Canbus, and it will not talk to the engine. This happens both in "Jaguar" mode and in "EOBD/OBD2" mode.This tells me that there is a software bug with the LR 3.0. The audio system connects to the diagnostic tool with the SCP bus on pins 2 & 10 on the diagnostic plug. The Vll does most things but doesn’t always connect the the main ECU on early cars.
