It’s an absolute must have this set if you’re a fan of the original Kratos or the video game. This set is worth getting just for the Atreus alone and the upgraded Kratos is just the icing on the cake really. The main reason many fans want this set is the inclusion of Atreus. Fans have wanted a figure of “boy!” since the game came out. Atreus comes with a knife, quiver (of removable) arrows and a bow with an actual string. Like Kratos, he is highly detailed especially in his costume with the wraps and fur pelts making the most of his costume. I love the head sculpt as well with the faux mohawk hairstyle and the scarring on his face are very well done. Atreus also features 25 points of articulation, I would have expected less than Kratos as he’s a much smaller figure, though 25 is still very good for action figure his size.

For this figure alone I would get this set as I love the aggressive head sculpt and the new accessories. The weapon effects are a great added touch and add a lot to the possibilities of posing this figure. Like the original figure, he comes with over 30 points of articulation and is as highly detailed as the original figure. The detail doesn’t stop on the figure, either. Kratos comes with three accessories: his Leviathan axe, a dagger, and a shield. The intricate carving on the axe and shield are as good as you’ll get in this scale. The small part pictured below the dagger is part of Kratos’s wrist gauntlet that pops out to attach the shield to his arm. Created by David Jaffe in 2005 and first seen on the PlayStation 2 and Sony franchise, the iconic video game saga of God of War has made Kratos one of the most popular characters in gaming pop culture, acclaimed by audiences and critics as one of the best new characters from the 2000s, gaining adaptations in novels, comics and of course, his own line of collectible statues by Iron Studios. I have to say at last years SDCC I got incredibly excited and impressed that NECA had the rights to the new and at the time upcoming God Of War game. The figure of the new Kratos both in 7″ and 18″ looked mightily impressive.Over the ruins of an icy Nordic battlefield, the ruthless Greek demigod, once known as the Ghost of Sparta, leaps into combat holding his magical ax, Leviathan, with a furious expression on his pale face, marked with a red tattoo, to honor his brother. The statue of the Greek warrior features clothes more suited to the Scandinavian environment, quite different from his Spartan origins, with his son and ally, right by his side. The boy, who uses his father for support, jumps and pulls his bow to shoot one of his electrified arrows. Iron Studios presents its new statue "Kratos and Atreus BDS Art Scale 1/10 - God of War" featuring the series` anti-hero protagonist and his son, as seen in the game God of War (2018). The Spartan warrior, Kratos, had many adventures in the Greek era, such as avoiding the outbreak of major disasters and alter his destiny. With a fierce and arrogant personality, he faced the gods of Olympus and ended up being manipulated by the god Ares. The result of this was that when Kratos discovered he was one of Zeus` many sons, he took revenge by killing his half-brother and becoming the new God of War - the title of the video game franchise in which he is the protagonist. Also betrayed by his father, his vindictive nature led him to destroy Mount Olympus. Tired of this trajectory of revenge and destruction, Kratos began to wander the world in search of a new life and, upon arriving in Scandinavia, changed his mindset thanks to his second wife Laufey and, later, his son, Atreus. He was able to control his fury and act in a much more loving way towards his son, but due to his warrior nature, after Laufey`s death, he had to face and fight monsters and gods from the Nordic kingdom, preparing his reluctant son for the future as well. That figure arrived earlier this year and it’s an incredible figure. It’s so good that I had to get two of them! It’s one of my favorite figures released this year. NECA is a big fan of the license themselves and were very keen to do more with the license and they did say they had plans to release other figures from the game.
