Initially it was rather disappointing, but once the latest driver was installed it was quite impressive. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. The Drop CTRL and the GLORIOUS GMMK 2 are two hot-swappable, mechanical keyboards designed for different uses. I’m someone who knows my way around these driver software programs (I’m a gaming product reviewer, after all, so I get to interact with them often) but I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to only get the side lighting to light up, for example. If you are looking for a readily available coiled cable with an aviator that operates at that right angle, this is a fine choice.

The first thing I noticed about the new GMMK line is the fact that they made some smart design choices, at least for me personally. I say this because Glorious also makes a board that’s aimed at the higher market tiers but it makes no sense comparing keyboards with hand-lubed boutique switches and stabilizers to a mass-produced keyboard that’s aimed at a different audience altogether. It isn't wireless, so you'll have to connect it directly to your HTPC, which means more cable management across the room. There’s no creaking or flexing with the GMMK 2, and while it obviously doesn’t feel as premium as something like the GMMK Pro it doesn’t feel cheap or ‘budget’ at all to me. GMMK 2 is a versatile and adaptable mechanical keyboard that allows you to replace, among other things, the switches to suit your needs.Similar to the Apex Pro or Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro, you are able to customize the RGB backlighting of the GMMK 2 on an individual per-key basis.

The GLORIOUS GMMK 2, also known as the GLORIOUS Modular Mechanical Keyboard 2, is a wired-only, mechanical keyboard available in a barebones version without switches or keycaps or a fully-assembled version with linear GLORIOUS Fox switches installed. You’ll notice on the PCB that installing screw-in stabilizers is an option, which I think is great and I’ll probably move into screw-in stabilizers once I find the time.Overall, this ensures a balanced weight, which in combination with the rubberised feet provides stability even in the heat of the battle. The Glorious GMMK 2 had no issues connecting to my Dell G15 5515 or Apple MacBook Air M1 via the included braided USB Type-C to Type-A cable. For even more customization, you can replace the included clip-on stabilizers with PCB-mounted alternatives such as GSV2. Great quality keyboard with lots of customization options to make it feel/sound and look exactly how you want it. This is my personal opinion from my own personal experience, and others’ experience may (probably will) vary! Most keys work as intended on Linux and macOS, except that the Print Screen button and a few hotkeys, like the calculator button, don't work on macOS.

Unfortunately, it's a high-profile board, but it doesn't come with a wrist rest, which would improve the comfort overall. I do love that the Drop ALT has USB-C ports on the left and right, as someone who fancies using aviator cables, I always found that showing off aviator parts was nicer on a board that has the port on a far side of the board.
