Description

The Flashforge Adventurer 4 is the flagship of the Adventurer line of FDM 3D printers, and features a 220 x 200 x 250 mm build volume, a flexible removable build platform, an integrated spool holder, the ability to resume a print after a power outage and more in an enclosed chamber (with built-in air filter) that feels like it could survive a drop off of a bridge. The build area is 220 by 200 by 250mm, and it has a system for easily swapping out nozzles -- all good features to have in a mid-level to high-end printer. Flashforge indicated that this clip would be included with the 3D printer at the time of release, but it’s unclear if the company will supply a 3D model or an actual printed part.

Most 3D printers for schools use plastics, and the Fuse Deposition Modelling (FDM) process, which involves many thin layers of plastic building up the desired shape. The motion system hardware of the Adventurer 4 is top-notch, with dual linear rods on the X axis, the Y axis, and Z axis.

The combination of the enclosed build space and the almost noiseless motion system ensure an ultra-quiet printing process and make the Adventurer 4 the ideal choice for home users and printer farms. The process is fascinating to watch, as molten plastic is extruded from the 3D printer tip as it moves around, creating the shape of each layer, one after another. Unfortunately, the software for the machine doesn’t live up to the potential of this machine, and the Flashforge-provided FlashPrint software doesn’t seem to be completely finished. The Adventurer 4 Pro extruder has 3 fans and air channels on both sides to ensure an efficient cooling effect. After setting the Z-offset height, the Adventurer 4 trammed the bed to nine points across the build platform, and they were all perfectly uniform.

For improved service, this cookie helps remember users so that previous chats can be linked together. This is the same type of semi-automated leveling used by the Flashforge Adventurer 3 Lite, which probes various points on the bed and requires user input at each step.

The flexible steel build plate has a PEI coating so that the models can be removed from the platform in seconds and without tools.Unlike a printer like the Anycubic Vyper which goes through an entire calibration process with no operator input required, the Adventurer 4 probes nine points on the bed and prompts the user to confirm the Z height at each point. It integrates interest, daily life and working efficiency with fun and intelligent printing experience for home users, education users and office users. Flashforge advertises the Adventurer 4 as featuring an auto-leveling build platform, but that’s a bit of a stretch. At a 15% hexagonal infill, this decorative cube also has a wide enough footprint to test the adhesive quality of the build surface and see if a dense model will delaminate as the part cools and shrinks. This makes it easy to create intricate or large prints in a fraction of the time an Adventurer 4 would.

An extra build plate is included, which allows you to grab a finished build plate, swap in a clean one, and press print again. Obviously it had an enclosure and seems to have some level of safety built into it, but I'm really not sure based on what I've read about 3D printer fires. The Adventurer 4 features a robust hardware motion system and this print definitely shows what the machine is capable of. As with the Adventure 3 you can use Wifi to connect to your whopping 8gb of onboard storage (no pesky SD cards here! There are a number of basic variables such as cost, material types and build envelope to take into consideration, and many of our machines have their own unique features and specifications - we have options to suit requirements at all levels.

This nozzle is designed for temperatures of up to 240°C, has an internal heat conduction structure and improved melting efficiency to achieve the best results and highest quality even at high-speed prints. As with the Adventure 3 it is equiped with a quick detach hotend, the whole nozzle assembly can be removed and refitted in seconds. Because the Adventurer 4 is a fully enclosed unit -- even the big spool of filament is locked inside it's far larger than the comparable Anycubic Vyper, although the Adventurer 4's bed is smaller by 10mm on one side.
