STOP. If you’re about to learn to drive, traffic lights are among the first road signals you’ll be taught. While quite a straightforward signal, they’re important to get right. Not only are they common in day-to-day driving, but they feature in the driving test – both the theory and the practical. Red stop bars should never be crossed when lining up on or crossing a runway unless, in exceptional cases, the stop bars, lights or controls are reported to be unserviceable, and contingency measures, such as using follow-me vehicles, are in force. In these circumstances, whenever possible, alternative routes should be used. You shouldn't risk it. The brakes are one of the most important safety features of your car, so it’s important to act immediately when you see this red warning light. Aerodrome controllers are required to “maintain a continuous watch on all flight operations on and in the vicinity of an aerodrome”. In good visibility condition, this is mainly achieved by controllers’ head-up operations. In low visibility conditions, direct visual observation is usually complemented by electronic surveillance means, obliging controllers mostly to head-down operations. Head-up and head-down operations may present very different characteristics, in relation to controller’s body position in the environment, kinesthetics and ergonomics, to eye movement, to objects requiring controller’s focused attention, etc.. Consequently, stop bars that have to be operated 24/7 shall present an adequately designed controlling interface (HMI), permitting that controllers “maintain continuous watch”, regardless of the visibility conditions, of the surveillance means and, thence, regardless of the head- up or down operations in progress. The location of the HMI should always be close to the position of the dedicated aerodrome controller. The design of the switches should be thus that they are easy to control without a facile possibility to be accidentally switched off.

Here is an informative video from Surrey Poultry Vets – https://www.surreypoultryvet.co.uk/post/reducing-red-mites-hens-hints-webinar Note 2.— Care is required in the design of the electrical system to ensure that all of the lights of a stop bar will not fail at the same time. Guidance on this issue is given in the Aerodrome Design Manual, Part 5. Place a piece of material in the corner of coop or in a nest box or around the end of the perches to entice mites to hide in the folds. If you have an infestation you will likely see evidence mites the next morning, after a night of feeding on the hens. You must destroy or dispose of the infected material (burnt or double bagged in bin) Signs/Symptoms show by hens

The first finding—shorter RTs to a green traffic light—reinforces conclusions from previous studies that found environmental cues can influence basic cognitive and attention processes [e.g., 5, 6 (Experiment 3a), 7, 8]. It has been shown that emotional stimuli can guide attentional and perceptual processes by increasing their priority and thus causing enhancement of visual processing at affectively cued locations [ 27, 28, 29]. The current study provides novel evidence that a neutral, every-day stimulus, such as a traffic light, can have a similar effect on higher, more executive aspects of the attention system. Specifically, our results indicate that a red traffic light might increase the priority of a specific process (stop) and thus prime or enhance this process. This strengthens the suggestion that environmental cues affect higher attention processes, and that this effect is not necessarily unique to affective cues.

J Exp Psychol Gen. 2008; 137: 649–672. pmid:18999358 Driving could even fix a minor problem in your diesel particulate filter (DPF). If the service light illuminates next to the DPF icon, driving for 10 minutes or so at speeds greater than 40mph could help to clear or regenerate the filter. Logan GD, Cowan WB. On the ability to inhibit thought and action: A theory of an act of control. Psychol Rev. 1984; 91: 295–327. Stop bar should be provided at all taxiways giving access to active runways during limited visibility conditions unless the aerodrome layout, traffic density and applied procedures enable protection by other means at the discretion of the responsible authority.
